Should I make a yeast starter?

Last night Shane and I whipped up a ten gallon batch of  IPA.  Shane built a starter the night before…..

And I simply brought a vial of yeast.  Can you guess which carboy got the starter? Pic is 12 hours after pitching

I learned early on how and why to use starters, but did not expect this result
